How do I remove my 2001 Eclipse headlights so I can clean them?

The headlights on my 2001 Eclipse are really foggy,and I need to know how to remove he covers so I can clean them out. Also, once I know how to remove the covers, is there any special way to remove the fog, or will it just wipe off??

I can’t afford the Headlight Restoration Kit from the Auto Parts store.is there something else?

Will sandpaper work to clean car headlights ?

Someone told me use water and sandpaper that will do the trick I have a 2000 dodge intrepid with foggy headlights they are suppose to be clear but instead they are yellow and have what looks like sun damage a little will sand paper help ?
